About The Role
LifeWorks Ryde is an innovative and rapidly growing multidisciplinary service, offering therapy both onsite and in the community.
You'll have the opportunity to work in our state-of-the-art Advanced Technology Centre, delivering cutting-edge rehabilitation using the latest robotic and assistive technologies.
In this role, you'll work collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary team, using a client-focused and goal-driven framework.
Working primarily with adult clients with neurological conditions and/or complex disabilities both onsite and in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Provision of high quality, evidence-based physiotherapy interventions based on sound clinical reasoning following comprehensive assessment.
Provision of clinical supervision for assistants and junior physiotherapists.
Supervision of physiotherapy students.
To contribute to the clinical education of self and others including students and junior physiotherapists.
To maintain and encourage an evidence-based approach to practice.
Contribute to the development of the physiotherapy services within LifeWorks Ryde.
About You
We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with the following essential criteria:
Essential Criteria
Unrestricted registration with AHPRA.
Significant and recent experience (minimum 3 years) working with clients with a neurological disability, ideally both in an outpatient type setting and the community.
Hydrotherapy experience with a competent level of swimming to support clients in water.
Experience with and/or a good understanding of advanced technology used in neurological rehabilitation.
Experience supervising level 1/2 physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants and students along with providing in-service education to colleagues.
Experience working with NDIS funded clients and/or knowledge of systems involved.
Experience working with iCare participants or similar compensable schemes.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Demonstration of effective multidisciplinary teamwork.
Sound time management and organisation skills.
Demonstrated evidence of relevant professional development and commitment to evidence-based practice.
Demonstrated experience in leading quality improvement activities.
Current unrestricted C class driver's licence, good driving record and own car (note you may be required to travel to visits in your own vehicle. Mileage/petrol costs can be claimed).
Desirable Criteria
Experience with and/or a good understanding of EksoNR robotic exoskeleton, Tyromotion suite, functional electrical stimulation devices, somatosensory technology.
Experience with and/or sound knowledge of research activities within neurological rehabilitation including evidence for use of assistive technology.
