About the opportunity
Seeking a fit Freight handler able to also perform as Yard Truck Driver (HC licence) - approximately 1 week in every 4 weeks in conjuction with Freight Handler work the other 3 weeks, to join our diverse and hard-working team. With e-commerce booming, our freight handlers are the folks making sure consignments are correctly loaded so we can get deliveries out to our customers, fast. This role is combined as a Yard Truck Driver as well, completing approximately 50 moves within Depot.
Roster / Pay
* Monday to Friday
* 5.30am - 1.30pm (7.5 work hours per day)
* $33.14ph Freight work | Upgraded to $36.14ph as Yard Truck Driver
* + 12% Superannuation
* + Leave entitlements
You'll be
* Predominantly the role will be doing Freight handling (approx 3 of every 4 weeks)
o Handloading parcels and cartons from conveyor belts into trucks, ready for our drivers to head out on the road.
o Unloading trucks when drivers get back to the warehouse.
o Wrapping freight by hand or using a shrink wrapper (you know - like the ones at the airport), electronically scanning parcels and updating documentation.
o Forklift operations as required
* Approximately 1 week in every 4 weeks, you will be rotated into Yard Hand Driver duties for one week
o Opening rear doors, crack seals, inspect freight
o Determine where freight needs to go - this skill will be developed
o Placing items where they need to go or carting to a different area
o Ensuring set up sheets are followed
o Answering 2 way calls for movements across the depot
About you
* You're fit and can lift at least 30kg – we assess this at a pre-employment medical check to help make sure you're safe on the job.
* You're laser focused, even when the role gets repetitive.
* You've got a HC truck licence.
* A forklift licence is advantageous.
* You're a team player, passionate about helping our team keep the community connected.
* You're also an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
