Yulu-Burri-Ba Aboriginal Corporation for Community Health (Yulu-Burri-Ba) aims to promote holistic wellness within our community by providing comprehensive and culturally safe health, wellbeing and social support services that meet the unique needs, values and traditions of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through collaboration, respect and empowerment. Yulu-Burri-Ba has clinics at Capalaba, Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island and Wynnum.
Yulu-Burri-Ba's teams are embedded within a Primary Health Care Clinic that provides a comprehensive range of primary and specialist care services. This role works actively with these other disciplines to ensure that the needs of clients are met in a truly holistic way.
About the Position
We are looking for friendly and confident receptionists who will go above and beyond to provide our clients with respect and care. We value quick learners who demonstrate a high standard of customer service, effective and efficient administration of client appointments, client data and client claim processing.
As a Medical Receptionist you will play an integral role as the first point of contact with clients and families for the Practice and provide a high standard of customer service, effective and efficient administration of client appointments, client data and client claims processing.
General Responsibilities
* Meet and greet all clients and visitors in a welcoming and respectful manner.
* Answer telephone calls promptly, record messages accurately and relay messages promptly to the relevant provider, including contact details and level of urgency.
* Ensure all GPs and other visiting providers MBS billing is completed daily.
* Confirming Medicare claims are reconciled, and visits reclaimed if needed in a timely manner.
Oversee the organisation and administration of paperwork:
* Receive and assign/attend to incoming and outgoing mail daily.
* Ensure scanning is up to date each day.
Prepare for daily appointments by ensuring clients scheduled for the coming day have up to date:
* Contact details.
* Medicare number and relevant concession cards.
* CTG registration if eligible.
* MyMedicare registration.
* Identify clients overdue for key MBS items (715, 721, 723 and 732).
Selection Criteria
Essential
* Understanding of the health issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
* Understanding of the practical application of principles of privacy and confidentiality in relation to client information.
* Ability to work across all three YBB clinics (North Stradbroke Island, Capalaba, Wynnum).
* Availability to work extended hours (weekdays: 8:00am – 6:30pm) and one Saturday per month (8:30am – 4:30pm).
* Strong computer and typing skills and willingness to upgrade skills specific to duties especially those related to software utilized for the collation of medical and client file records (e.g. MMEx).
* Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a busy fast paced environment and adapt to unexpected changes/events.
