About the Role
You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network infrastructure that supports both enterprise IT systems and specialised engineering platforms. You will ensure the seamless integration of engineering applications and industrial control systems within a secure, high-performance network environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable network infrastructure to support engineering systems and enterprise IT.
* Monitoring network performance and troubleshooting connectivity, latency, and configuration issues.
* Managing firewalls, VPNs, and other security protocols to protect sensitive engineering data.
* Integrating specialised engineering platforms (e.g. CAD, SCADA, PLCs) into the broader network environment.
* Collaborating with engineering and IT teams to ensure system compatibility and operational efficiency.
* Maintaining documentation for network architecture, configurations, and change management.
* Conducting regular system upgrades, firmware updates, and patching to ensure reliability and compliance.
* Supporting disaster recovery planning and implementing redundancy and failover solutions.
* Assisting in evaluating and deploying new technologies to improve network performance and security.
* Ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards and internal governance policies.
* Participating in audits, risk assessments, and network vulnerability testing.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* Hands‐on experience with engineering systems integration (e.g. SCADA, PLCs).
* Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent (preferred).Proven experience in designing and managing enterprise network infrastructure.
* Excellent documentation and communication skills.
* Valid driver's licence.
Must be an Australian citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
