We are currently working with a leading privately owned developer who is seeking a high-calibre
Senior Project Engineer
to play a key role in delivering a landmark
36-level residential tower on Sydney's Lower North Shore
.
This is a flagship high-density Class 2 project and an exceptional opportunity for an experienced engineer to step into a senior role with genuine ownership across technical coordination, buildability strategy, and commercial performance.
The Role
Working alongside the Senior Project Manager and site leadership team, you will be instrumental in driving engineering excellence across a complex vertical build.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Technical Leadership
* Lead design coordination between consultants and contractor teams.
* Manage structural, façade, and services interface challenges.
* Conduct buildability reviews and implement technical solutions.
* Ensure compliance with NCC and NSW Class 2 regulatory reforms.
* Drive QA processes and mitigate defects risk.
Program & Delivery
* Oversee critical path engineering activities.
* Coordinate subcontractors and manage RFIs.
* Support procurement sequencing and trade package rollouts.
* Assist in maintaining program integrity across 36 levels of vertical construction.
Commercial & Contract Support
* Assist in managing variations and claims.
* Monitor cost control within engineering scopes.
* Contribute to monthly reporting on risk, cost, and program performance.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Liaise with architects, structural and services engineers.
* Coordinate with authorities and certification bodies.
* Provide structured reporting to executive leadership.
About You
* 7–12 years' experience delivering high-density residential towers in NSW.
* Demonstrated involvement on projects $150m+.
* Strong knowledge of NSW Class 2 compliance framework.
* Experience within Tier 1 or major developer-builder environments highly regarded.
* Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar.
You are:
* Technically strong across vertical construction.
* Commercially aware and detail-focused.
* Comfortable operating in high-performance delivery teams.
* Motivated to progress toward Project Manager in the medium term.
Remuneration
$250,000 + Super
This reflects the scale, complexity, and profile of the 36-level development.
Long-term pipeline opportunities exist within the broader development portfolio.
