This is a Senior Systems Engineer role based at the Brisbane HQ with occasional client site visits to provide hands-on support and build strong relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Respond to L3 support requests across M365, networking, backup, Azure and the general IT stack, providing on-site and remote support for desktops, laptops, servers, networks, and cloud platforms.
* Configure and maintain network devices (LAN, WAN, security systems, and telecom services).
* Configure, deploy, and maintain Microsoft 365 and Azure services.
* Plan and execute system upgrades and migrations with minimal disruption.
* Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and network issues.
* Collaborate with external vendors and contractors as needed.
* Ensure regular maintenance and optimisation of customer IT systems.
* Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects both remotely and on-site.
* Regularly communicate and engage with customers to resolve issues and gather business requirements.
* Build and maintain relationships with existing clients, providing value through additional free consulting.
* Document all ticket activity and resolution steps thoroughly.
* Execute security tasks with focus on vulnerability assessments, threat detection, incident response, and remediation.
Key Requirements
* 5+ years in a client-facing technical systems engineering role, preferably in customer service.
* Previous experience in a Managed Services environment.
* Complex problem resolution skills across various platforms.
* Advanced and complex understanding of Microsoft Modern Work.
* Advanced understanding of networking, firewalling, cloud compute and telephony.
* Clear communicator with strong customer engagement experience.
* Access to a car and a valid driver's license.
* Australian work rights are essential for this position.
* Experience with ConnectWise PSA.
* Degree or diploma in IT or related field.
* Familiarity with REDD's Solution Stack and UTB frameworks.
* Experience leading and mentoring junior team members is desirable.
