Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and suitably qualified Project Manager with experience in Defence. Director level exposure with experience in program level reporting is essential.
This role involves working under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex tasks within an integrated workforce. The Project Manager will liaise with stakeholders at all levels, building strong working relationships and serving as a point of contact for all enquiries.
Activities
1. Perform complex planning and execution of the project plan to ensure delivery of fit-for-purpose outcomes, including management of scope, schedules, risks, budgets, and resources.
2. Support the Capability Manager in developing and progressing project/product submissions in accordance with One Defence Capability System requirements, such as gates, reviews, and committees.
3. Provide fundamental input to Capability (FIC) integration and coordination through high stakeholder engagement and relationship building.
4. Develop, update, and maintain required project/product documentation, such as the Integrated Project Management Plan (iPMP).
5. Undertake project/product reporting using applicable management systems, e.g., PPRIP, SPMS.
6. Identify and manage Risks, Issues, and Opportunities.
7. Provide SME guidance and mentoring to Business/Project/Product team members.
8. Recommend and implement appropriate actions to progress work and meet business objectives, offering advice on complex issues.
9. Manage workflow and resources, and prepare team plans with measurable milestones and expected outcomes.
Outcomes
1. Governance of the SPO’s business and achievement of objectives/milestones is maintained.
2. Contribute to the achievement of business, project, and product objectives/milestones.
3. Ensure SPO personnel are engaged and aware of their Business, Project, and Product Management responsibilities.
4. Execute the project/product plan to ensure outcomes within cost, schedule, and quality thresholds, meeting service capability needs as detailed in MAA/MSA PdS.
5. Deliver complex procedural, operational, administrative, and business management activities supporting outcome delivery across the SPO.
6. Enhance Project Assurance Board and PMU Battle Rhythm.
7. Strengthen PMU coaching and mentoring of Project Management staff.
