Our Opportunity Due to high demand and extensive growth trajectory, we are looking for a passionate Industrial (Production) Engineer to join our team. Located in Prestons, some of the responsibilities include however are not limited to: Review existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, safety, and quality. Develop and implement lean manufacturing strategies, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Optimise material flow, production layouts, and workstation design to reduce waste and increase throughput. Collaborate with the Production Manager to plan capacity, workflow, and resource utilisation. Assist in implementing and maintaining production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements. Support introduction of new products and processes into production Analyse production issues and implement sustainable solutions to minimise downtime. Recommend and support the introduction of automation, robotics, and digital manufacturing systems. Prepare technical reports and cost-benefit analyses for proposed improvements. Ensure all processes comply with ISO 9001, WHS, and environmental requirements. Conduct root cause analysis for non-conformance and implement corrective/preventive actions. Work with the WHSE and Quality Managers to ensure safety and quality are embedded in all production processes. Liaise with Design, Projects, Procurement, and Workshop Supervisors to align engineering and production objectives. Provide training to production staff on new processes, equipment, and lean practices. Actively contribute to continuous improvement culture within NEPEAN Engineering. The Person To be considered for this role you will have: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with post grad or honours in Industrial Engineering. Understanding of a heavy engineering/manufacturing environment. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process optimisation. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills. Excellent communication Experience in a heavy engineering/manufacturing environment. Experience in fabrication, machining, and assembly operations. Familiarity with ERP/MES systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred). Understanding of ISO 9001 and WHS and Environmental legislation in a manufacturing context Proactive and solutions-focused approach. High attention to detail with a commitment to quality.
