About Us
Sandalwood Feedlot is owned by Korean retail giant LOTTE and is a leading producer of high quality Wagyu beef for supply to LOTTE's retail businesses and other customers throughout the world. LOTTE's Sandalwood Feedlot is a 16,000 head operation, run in conjunction with a 1,514 hectare grazing and farming operation. The business is located 20km east of Dalby and less than an hour's drive from Toowoomba, offering an ideal location to engage in local sports, community events, and enjoy a vibrant social life outside of work.
Your Dream Job
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Enriching the lives of our cattle (pen riding duties: observing livestock health & behaviour, exercising and acclimating on horseback to create a 5-star living experience)
* Cattle Whisperer: Low stress cattle handling, including movements, drafting, receiving and trucking cattle
* Para-veterinarian: Diagnosis and treatment of cattle, working closely with our veterinarians to ensure optimal health and welfare outcomes
* Stablemaster: Oversee the daily care, training, and conditioning of horses, ensuring their health, well-being, and the upkeep of stable facilities.
What you will bring to the table
* Prior experience with cattle handling preferred, but not essential
* Demonstrated experience in horse riding and handling – mandatory
* Ability to bring 1-2 sound work horses – mandatory
* Eagerness to learn and grow within the Australian beef industry
* Strong dedication to upholding animal health and welfare standards
* Reliable, self-motivated, and committed to high performance
