As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. The Role: The Pathology Technician will perform technical anatomical pathology laboratory work requiring the application of conventional practices, methods and standards performed under the general technical direction and general technical supervision of the Medical Scientist in Charge. The work includes the performance of routine and specialised procedures on a range of specimens and the preparation of specimens for examination, diagnosis and additional procedures. You will need: Knowledge of histology and cytology technical principles and practices, including specimen preparation for examinations. Awareness of Laboratory safety requirements and procedures, including the safe handling and storage of chemicals. Demonstrated sound interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with members of a team.
