About the role
As a Senior Surveyor / Survey Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and executing complex surveying projects across various construction sites in the Mackay region. This full-time position offers the opportunity to apply your extensive expertise in land surveying and contribute to the success of major construction initiatives.
What you'll be doing
* Supervise and coordinate the work of survey teams, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards
* Conduct comprehensive land surveys, using advanced surveying equipment and techniques
* Analyse survey data, interpret findings, and produce detailed reports and plans
* Collaborate with construction managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure surveying activities align with project requirements
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior surveyors within the team
* Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety protocols, and quality assurance measures
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of surveying practices and the development of innovative solutions
What we're looking for
* Tertiary qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field
* Minimum 8 years' experience as a Surveyor, with a proven track record of managing complex construction projects
* Extensive knowledge of survey principles, methodologies, and the latest surveying technologies
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to deliver effective solutions
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
* Proficient in the use of survey software, including CAD applications and data management tools
* Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring survey teams
* Thorough understanding of relevant construction and surveying regulations and standards
