Network Specialist Critical Communications Job Description
We are responsible for operating and maintaining one of the world's largest critical communications networks, serving over 50 emergency services agencies and utilities. The network requires high levels of accessibility even in harsh environments.
Our team demonstrates a commitment to excellence by providing highly skilled operators who keep the public informed during times of crisis and react quickly to changing operational requirements of a demanding complex network.
The role provides technical leadership to our Network Operations Centre (NOC) and field teams in resolving and identifying issues, as well as proactively addressing these challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
* Resolution of Incidents and associated problems that require level 2 support
* Successful management of all configuration and software changes relating to the P25 network and site-related equipment, including technical peer review of changes
* Escalation and provision of support to level 3 support as needed
* Performance of level 2 support and maintenance of supported customer systems to relevant field services personnel when conducting on-site Non-Intrusive PMIs and Intrusive PMIs
* Provision of proposals to our Technical Authority for any issues identified that cannot be resolved within the scope of our Services
Requirements:
* Good understanding of P25 or equivalent and RF systems
* Intermediate understanding of Motorola applications and radio equipment (or similar)
* Good understanding of DC power systems and batteries
* Excellent analytical and practical problem-solving skills
* Excellent customer service skills, including good communication skills with a drive for total customer satisfaction as a result of work performed
