This is an exciting opportunity for an Aboriginal Environmental Health Cadet to join our team and contribute to public and environmental health initiatives. As a cadet, you will gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge while completing your university degree.
The role involves supporting the delivery of key public and environmental health initiatives, conducting inspections and surveillance activities, assessing development applications, and participating in community education and engagement programs.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting public and environmental health programs and initiatives
* Conducting inspections, surveillance, and compliance activities
* Assessing development applications and providing health-related advice
* Contributing to pollution control and on-site sewerage management
* Participating in community education and engagement initiatives
Requirements and Qualifications
* Be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person by descent and identity who is recognised as such by the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community
* Be eligible to enrol in the Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent qualification
* Have a strong interest in applying theoretical knowledge in practical, real-world situations
* Be a strong communicator with proactive and willing-to-learn attitude
* Be organised and able to manage work and study commitments effectively
* Be committed to promoting community health and environmental wellbeing

* Full-time fixed-term cadetship (up to 6 years)
* Starting salary from $1,150.82 to $1,257.42 per week depending on year of study
