About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing Tax Team as a Graduate Tax Consultant. If you're nearing completion of your Commerce, Accounting, or Law degree or have recently graduated, this is your opportunity to start your career at one of Australia's top mid-tier firms in a specialist Tax Consulting team. You will work closely with the Director to support both internal stakeholders and external clients on a wide range of tax matters.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with an interest in tax who is eager to build technical expertise and contribute to meaningful work from day one.
Responsibilities
* Assist in preparing written technical tax advice across a broad range of Federal and State taxes
* Conduct background research on legislative and regulatory matters
* Collaborate with Team Members to ensure deliverables, deadlines and expectations are met
* Assist with internal and external tax training preparation and presentation
* Consider, research, and resolve day-to-day technical tax queries within the wider CA team
* Learn to advise on restructures, M&A, due diligence, CGT concessions, and business sales
Skills and Experience
* Completion (or near completion) of a Degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Law
* Interest in becoming a specialist in tax
* Ability to research and interpret tax legislation, rulings, and other technical material with guidance
* Proficient written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise correspondence
* Effective interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
* Motivated, proactive, and eager to learn
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
* Comfortable public speaking
