Senior SMSF Accountant – Class Super Specialist

H&R Block's SMSF Administration Division is seeking a Senior SMSF Accountant with strong Class Super experience to manage a portfolio of SMSF clients and deliver high-quality compliance and administration services.
About the Role
As a Senior SMSF Accountant, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of a portfolio of Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs), including financial reporting, compliance, client communication, and audit coordination.
You will work closely with clients, advisers, auditors, and internal team members to ensure funds are administered accurately and efficiently in line with current superannuation legislation.
This role is ideally suited to someone with strong hands‐on experience using Class Super who can confidently manage complex transactions and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of SMSF financial statements and annual returns
* End-to-end management of SMSF compliance obligations
* Processing and reconciliation of investment transactions within Class Super
* Management of pensions, contributions, rollovers, and benefit payments
* Liaising with auditors and resolving audit queries
* Maintaining accurate and compliant fund records
* Managing client relationships and responding to SMSF-related queries
* Assisting with fund establishments, pension commencements, and wind‐ups
* Supporting workflow management and process improvement initiatives
* Mentoring and assisting junior team members where appropriate
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* 5+ years' experience in SMSF accounting and compliance
* Strong working knowledge of SMSF legislation and compliance requirements
* Demonstrated experience using Class Super
* Excellent reconciliation and problem‐solving skills
* Strong organisational and time management abilities
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong communication and client service skills
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
* CA or CPA qualification
* Experience with complex SMSF structures and investments
* Experience within a public practice or specialist SMSF environment
