Overview
Join a passionate research team at the forefront of autoimmune disease discovery. As a Research Project Support Officer, you will support the Autoimmune Research Unit (ARU) at John Hunter Hospital, coordinating multiple clinical and investigator‑initiated research projects to directly impact patient care.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate and support research projects from ethics submissions through data collection, analysis and reporting.
* Assist with research documentation, governance applications and financial management within clinical trials.
* Collaborate with clinicians, research partners and sponsors to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Maintain accurate records, protect participant confidentiality and contribute to continuous process improvement.
Qualifications
* Experience in health‑related research or clinical trials and sound understanding of research protocols.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
* Proactive, solutions‑focused, and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
* Demonstrated confidentiality, professionalism and accuracy.
* Experience in financial management within clinical trials (highly regarded).
Skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, electronic medical databases (Medline, PubMed, Embase), research systems such as Redcap, and CTMS.
* Quantitative/qualitative analysis, secure data management, HREC and RGO submissions, basic statistical analysis.
* Strong organisational, problem‑solving and customer‑service skills.
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication.
* Understanding of project and program operations, financial management and process improvement.
