**About our Client**:
Our client is an instantly recognisable household name within the Financial Services industry. In recent years they have led the way in the creation of wealth management products and services for their customers. Due to this expansion in their offering and associated customer acquisition, they are looking to strengthen the team with the addition of an experienced Database Administrator, responsible for maintaining and managing critical hosting and database platforms.
**Core responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with IT Managed Service Providers to ensure the delivery of exceptional end-to-end operations and run database services, including governance, reporting, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Manage service level agreements and supplier governance to ensure optimal performance and adherence to established standards.
- Monitor and maintain the availability and health of database systems and services, taking proactive measures to ensure optimal performance.
- Partner with Managed Service Providers (MSP) staff.
- Develop comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and automation systems to enable proactive operations and self-healing capabilities.
- Support the identification and resolution of complex problems, utilizing your technical knowledge and skills to drive effective solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Platform teams to understand dependencies that may impact project delivery and success.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- SQL database administration within a medium to large organization
- Demonstrated knowledge of Infrastructure services, including hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL databases
- You will have experience partnering with MSP's
- It will be advantageous to have worked on AWS or Azure
- It will be advantageous to have worked in the Financial Services industry.
