About the Role
The Consultant Nuclear Medicine Physician will provide specialized nuclear medicine services and will also participate in inpatient management under the General Medicine team. The role integrates general medicine and nuclear medicine responsibilities, with duties including patient care, image interpretation, and consultation with referring physicians.
About You
Board-certified in Nuclear Medicine.
Medical qualification registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or a comparable qualification.
Experience in general medicine within an acute hospital-based setting and community consulting practice.
Proven experience as a physician in general medicine within an acute care hospital environment.
Suitable for an Area-of-Need physician appointment.
Current satisfactory National Police Certificate and Working with Children Check.
Duties
Conduct ward rounds and manage inpatient care as part of the General Medicine team.
Lead the provision of clinical nuclear medicine services, including general nuclear medicine, radionuclide therapy, bone densitometry, and other nuclear medicine procedures.
Perform nuclear medicine procedures, interpret imaging studies, and provide expert consultation to referring physicians.
Maintain high levels of patient satisfaction through compassionate, patient-centred care.
Participate in the on-call physician roster as required.
