We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our optimisation team based in Brisbane office. The ideal candidate has worked at the level of Senior Process Engineer or Superintendent and is keen to apply their process analytics and optimisation skills to deliver holistic solutions.
You will take advantage of our unique remote optimisation and deployment approach that enables greater site-life harmony whilst still allowing you to get your hands dirty from time-to-time. You will contribute a processing perspective to a multi-disciplinary team to apply fit-for-purpose automation, control and digital solutions that create value for clients.
On a day-to-day basis, you'll be providing a range of services to clients, most of whom are in the mining and mineral processing space which can include any of the following:
* Met accounting
* Discovery audits
* Control strategy changes
* Commissioning and tuning
* Process information reviews
Your responsibilities will involve you:
* Engaging with customers as a client advocate to understand their operational problems and opportunities.
* Undertaking potential assessments to calculate the expected return on investment (ROI).
* Applying your operational experience to develop integrated solutions that span all layers of the automation pyramid to holistically solve client problems.
* Collaborating with designers, instrumentation & control system engineers and production system specialists to design, specify, deploy and sustain advanced process control solutions.
* Providing remote and onsite troubleshooting and technical support.
* Remaining at the forefront of process control technology and innovation.
* Optimising and maintaining our remote optimisation portal for client knowledge capture and value tracking.
* Potentially being called upon to mentor colleagues or provide expert advice on a bid, proposal or other business development activity.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate has:
* Degree in Metallurgy, Process, or Chemical Engineering with exposure to Process Control (post-graduate study preferred).
* Demonstrated experience in a metallurgical environment with process control, metallurgical accounting, and production reporting (concentrator experience required; hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, and utilities experience would be highly regarded).
* International and consulting experience across various operations and commodities preferred.
* Ability to balance competing priorities and business drivers across the operational value chain.
* Experience in designing robust process control strategies.
* Solid understanding of Windows OS, process dynamics, mathematics, simulation, and technical computing.
* Advanced knowledge of production systems (AVEVA PI preferred), including modelling and simulation.
* Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills, with strong client-facing rapport.
* Will and ability to travel to client sites up to 30% of the year.
