About The Role
Based in BYD's Melbourne office in Mulgrave, this Junior Logistics Specialist supports the Vehicle Planning & Logistics function to ensure efficient vehicle allocation, order fulfilment, and distribution operations. The role offers hands‐on exposure to end‐to‐end automotive supply chain processes.
Your Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end vehicle order allocation and fulfillment, from order processing through to dispatch and delivery, ensuring alignment with dealer partners, internal teams and 3PL partners.
* Coordinate allocation of both in-stock and in-transit vehicles, including manual allocation across dealers where system support is limited.
* Maintain clear visibility of vehicle status across all stages (inbound, in-transit, RDC, and outbound) through system tracking and offline management where required.
* Provide assistance with managing pre-allocation orders and relevant communications.
* Work closely with Regional Distribution Centre teams to track order (PO) status and ensure timely processing, including frequent offline communication due to system limitations.
* Respond to dealer enquiries by tracking VIN-level details and batch movements, often requiring manual verification.
* Ensure inventory data accuracy across systems and reconcile discrepancies through proactive checks.
* Support stocktaking activities and inventory audits.
* Generate and analyse operational reports (daily, weekly, monthly) to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities.
* Assist with shipping documentation and perform required system transactions.
* Provide support for ad‐hoc operational tasks as required.
Key Requirements
* 1-2 years' experience in vehicle allocation, inventory, or supply chain operations.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high‐volume, data‐intensive tasks.
* Proven ability to work effectively in a fast‐paced and evolving environment, with limited system support.
* Strong coordination and communication skills, ability to work under pressure and prioritise competing demands.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel (data tracking, reconciliation, reporting).
* Bilingual in English and Mandarin preferred.
