- Clerk Grade 7/8 with a salary range of $113,574 - $125,720 per annum plus superannuation

About the role
The role of Associate Operations provides project management, coordination and operational support across the Office of the Deputy Secretary 24-Hour, Screen & Sound.
A key requirement of this role is strong financial literacy and ability to manage budgets, track expenditure and maintain accurate financial records to support decision making and accountability across the division.
A key function of the role is working closely with internal stakeholders, particularly the Department finance and procurement teams. The role also oversees governance practices, maintains effective documentation, and coordinates operational processes to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and to the highest standards of quality, to help drive consistent, transparent and efficient outcomes for the office and its stakeholders.
Some of the key challenges of the role include -
- Achieving project deadlines and milestones, to the required standards and within budget, given the need to simultaneously coordinate multiple projects which are often complex and interconnected.
- Operating within a fast-paced and dynamic environment, ensuring a consistent and timely management response to operational challenges, aligned with Executive decisions.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have -
- Demonstrated experience working within government, providing project management, governance, finance, systems and processes support and other operational administration functions.
- Ability to anticipate and understand contentious issues and assimilate information quickly.
- Financial management principles, knowledge of budgeting, expenditure tracking, financial reporting and compliance with fiscal management policies.
- International relations and foreign affairs experience.
