Position Overview
We are currently seeking a motivated and caring Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) in the casual role to join our Allied Health team. This role works closely with our Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist to support residents' wellbeing, independence and quality of life.
As an OTA, you will provide and coordinate therapeutic care and activity programs for residents in line with MZH's Mission, Vision and Values, the Aged Care Quality Standards and all relevant legislation. Working under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist, you will contribute to exercise programs, individual therapy, care planning and ongoing resident support.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver therapeutic activities, exercise programs, and individual sessions based on resident Care Plans under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist.
* Assist with strengthening, range‑of‑motion and ambulation exercises.
* Facilitate meaningful activity programs that promote quality of life, independence and engagement.
* Maintain accurate documentation, records and statistics, including electronic notes.
* Promote a positive team spirit and provide support to new staff and volunteers.
About You
* Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance.
* Experience or placement in aged care or a similar health setting (preferred).
* Understanding of manual handling practices, WHS and infection control.
* Ability to follow clinical instruction and work under supervision.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Current National Police Clearance.
