The Role
The MindMap Youth Portal aims to support young people (0-25-years) and their caregivers seeking mental health support and services. The Portal provides an online triage to link users directly to information, support and service providers within the ACT. Users can access the portal via chat function, email, or phone.
The Clinical Youth Navigator provides 'Active Hold' brief therapeutic support, psychoeducation, strategies and generalised counselling with children and young people who are on the waitlist for mental health services within ACT. As the Clinical Youth Navigator, you will also be responsible for direct service delivery through the MindMap Youth Portal responding to young people, stakeholders, parents/carers, and professionals, helping users navigate the mental health system in the ACT.
This is a part time role based in Narrabundah working 3 days per week – Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.
Duties of the Mindmap Clinical Youth Navigator include;
* Monitoring the Youth Navigation Portal
* Community & Stakeholder engagement
* 'Actively Holding' clients awaiting services
* Providing therapeutic/generalised counselling support
* Sourcing mental health and wellbeing content
* Promoting the MindMap program to the ACT Community

About You
The ideal person we are looking for has:
* Relevant qualifications including one of the following: Psychology; Social Work, Counselling or equivalent.
* Demonstrated skills and experience working in the mental health sector with individuals, particularly children, adolescents and parents/caregivers.
* Commitment to and proficiency delivering evidence-based interventions.
* Good verbal and written communication skills, and good time management skills.
* To be considered for this role you are required to hold:
* a current driver's license, and
* a Working with Vulnerable People Card
* You will also be required to undergo a National Police Check.
