Responsibilities
Infrastructure
- Architect and manage secure, scalable infrastructure across AWS and GCP using Terraform and Spacelift.
- Provide reusable modules, guardrails, and automation for safe and consistent infrastructure provisioning.
- Manage containerization and orchestration platforms.
Security & Compliance
- Implement IAM, secrets management, and network policies to enforce least-privilege and zero-trust principles.
- Bake compliance evidence into the platform (audit logs, drift detection, policy-as-code).
- Maintain security and compliance frameworks including ISO 27001, in collaboration with the Operations Director.
- Provide security training and communications to internal teams; act as a point of contact for technical compliance and security matters.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions.
- Create systems and automation to speed delivery while reducing risk, including automated testing.
- Advise engineers on infrastructure, cloud, and security best practices.
Reliability & Observability
- Use Datadog for monitoring, logging, and alerting across infrastructure and applications.
- Define and execute strategies for high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery.
- Improve performance, cost efficiency, and reliability across environments.
- Align infrastructure strategy with business goals in partnership with product engineering leaders.
- Lead incident response and postmortems with a focus on systemic improvements.
- Mentor engineers, shaping best practices in automation, security, and cloud engineering.
Requirements
Mandatory
- Proven experience as a Platform, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineer.
- Deep expertise with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Strong experience with AWS and GCP.
- Proficiency in Docker and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes or equivalent).
- Deep understanding of IAM, networking, and security in multi-cloud environments.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC2) and security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Snowflake or other cloud data platforms.
Note: This role is also open to candidates based in Melbourne or Sydney.
