About the Role
This is a hands‐on Maintenance Officer role responsible for the day‐to‐day upkeep, repairs, and safety of the village. Working closely with the Village Manager, you will ensure the community is well‐maintained, compliant, and operating smoothly.
The role combines practical maintenance work, contractor coordination, and resident interaction, contributing directly to a safe and well‐presented living environment.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Maintenance & Repairs
* Conduct routine inspections of buildings, facilities, and equipment
* Perform general maintenance and coordinate repairs (e.g. lighting, plumbing, air conditioning, security systems)
* Respond promptly to urgent or safety‐related maintenance requests
* Support preventative maintenance schedules and upkeep of village assets
Maintenance Reporting & Operations
* Maintain accurate maintenance records, schedules, and updates via online systems
* Monitor and manage maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment
* Support waste management processes and general site operations
Stakeholder Engagement
* Build positive relationships with residents, staff, and contractors
* Respond to maintenance requests and queries in a professional and timely manner
* Assist in resolving issues and escalating where required
* Follow WH&S policies and contribute to a safe working environment
* Participate in risk management and compliance activities
* Support continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives across the village
About You
* Proven ability to carry out general maintenance and repairs
* Strong time management and ability to prioritise competing tasks
* Ability to work independently and use initiative
* Good physical fitness (including lifting up to 15kg)
* Strong communication skills with a customer‐focused approach
* Experience in retirement living, property, or facilities management
* Experience using maintenance or asset management systems
