Join Amazon's growing Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team as a Maintenance and Engineering Manager at the largest Fulfillment Center (FC) in the Southern Hemisphere and first Amazon Robotics Site in Australia.
The Maintenance and Engineering Manager is the line manager for a team of up to 12; including Maintenance Supervisors and Technicians (fitters and electricians). As a Maintenance and Engineering Manager, you'll bring together the elements that make our working environment as supportive and efficient as possible. Your focus will be to lead and mentor a team of expert technicians dedicated to equipment reliability.

Key job responsibilities
* Lead, support and mentor the maintenance team, ensuring site operations are maintained in a safe, standard and efficient manner.
* Work with the team and the wider network to harness the technical expertise available and build solutions.
* Support the Senior Maintenance and Engineering Manager as they work with the Site Safety department & Site Leadership to implement, record and audit safety and statutory compliance programs to provide a safe working environment for all staff.
* Implement network standards and focus on preventative maintenance to provide a high level of equipment availability to our internal customers.
* Ensure sufficient technical coverage is available for the shifts by organising and directing the training program for the team.
* Manage local projects or support Australia wide projects as assigned by the Senior Regional Maintenance and Engineering Manager.
A day in the life
You'll be based at one of our operational sites, which allows you to give practical guidance to your team and get a clear vision of what's happening at your site. You'll also have a chance to set up new projects that will improve everything from operational processes to equipment maintenance. After safety, the most important part of the role is leading your team and managing their performance and development, including organising additional training.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated leadership experience, particularly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
* Experience delivering leadership to a team of direct reports, with an emphasis on growth and development and team member engagement.
* Experience in liaising and managing relationships between a variety of stakeholders including third-party vendors.
* Formal trade qualifications in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil).
* Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
* Experience of automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems.
* Experience of working with statutory regulations such as compliance checks and machine safety protocols.
* Experience of using data analysis tools and PLC-based control systems.
* Experience with project management or Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma processes.
* Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
