The position
The Personal Care Assistant is responsible for providing competent personal care, support, and assistance to all residents under the direction and guidance of the senior clinical team.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care to assist residents to maintain independence and dignity in their daily living and lifestyle
- Assist with meal delivery and refreshments as required
- Record observations on assessment charts and document any exceptions in the care plan or progress notes, reporting to the EN/RN as necessary
- Check residents’ daily menu requirements
- Undertake duties as allocated or delegated by the RN/EN, including general ward duties
- To be considered for employment with Respect, candidates must meet the legislative requirements of the Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.
Qualifications
- Current National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in residential aged care
- Flexibility to work across morning, afternoon, and night shifts
