The Midwest Region extends along the coast from Lancelin in the south to north of Carnarvon then inland past Meekatharra. The regional headquarters is in Geraldton. District offices are located at Geraldton, Jurien Bay and Denham, with District work centres at Monkey Mia, Burringurrah, Yulga Jinna, Gascoyne Junction, Kalbarri, Thundelarra, Cue, Cervantes and the Pinnacles. The lands and waters we manage with our Traditional Owner partners are varied and beautiful, from coastal cliffs, dunes and heath to rich marine communities to outback ranges and vast scrublands.

We currently have an opportunity for an Operations Officer - Carbon to join our team.

Under the general supervision of the Conservation Operations Officer - Carbon, this position:

* Organises the implementation of carbon farming projects across the Midwest region.
* Works with traditional owners, Rangers and Trainee Rangers assigned to work on country to ensure carbon farming projects are implemented as required.

Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following four (4) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than four (4) pages in total.

* Experience in natural resource management, including land management and planning; with a preference for experience in, revegetation programs, cultural heritage management, management of threatening processes on conservation reserves, and an appreciation of carbon farming.
* Evidence of well-developed interpersonal and oral communication skills with experience in effective liaison with internal and external parties; including other government agencies, community, and special interest groups. Ability and willingness to work with traditional owners to deliver native title aspirations through joint management, cooperation, or collaborative arrangements.
* Experience, knowledge, and skills in leading and managing teams, working effectively as part of a team and independently; and showing a high level of self-motivation.
* Willingness, preparedness and an ability to undertake extended periods of travel, camping and work in remote areas.
