Doaba Indian Curry House (Spicy Connections Pty Ltd) is seeking an experienced and passionate Cook to join our team on a full-time basis. Located in Thornlie, we are a locally owned Indian restaurant providing authentic Indian cuisine to the residents of Thornlie, Huntingdale, Maddington, Gosnells, Langford, Canning Vale and surrounding areas.
Our restaurant combines the authentic taste of India with a stylish presentation, creating a unique balance of tradition and comfort. We pride ourselves on preparing freshly made dishes using authentic Indian spices and herbs to deliver rich, mouth-watering flavours and aromas that cannot be replicated by generic curry powders.
About the Role
As a Cook at Doaba Indian Curry House, your duties include:
* Cooking and seasoning various foods with emphasis on entrees, side vegetables and deserts.
* Planning and developing recipes and menus, taking into account such factors as seasonal availability of ingredients and tastes of customers.
* Determining how food should be presented, and create decorative food displays.
* Inspecting refrigerators, supplies, equipment and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.
* Meeting customers to discuss menus for special occasions such as weddings, parties, and banquets.
* Monitor temperature of hot and cold foods to ensure that established temperature goals are met.
* Checking the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
* Working with dieticians, customers or senior personnel to design meals.
* Demonstrating new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
* Performing related work as required.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
* Trade Qualifications in Commercial Cookery
* At least 1 year of full time work experience
* Organizing skills: Organizing human and material resources.
* Planning Skills: Planning a sequence of tasks to meet production requirements.
* Leadership Skills: Supervising and training other kitchen personnel.
* Creativity in presenting and cooking food.
