Calvary Cessnock Retirement Community is seeking a Pastoral Care Practitioner to help shape the provision of spiritual and pastoral care of residents, families, and staff.
About The Role
As a member of the care team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the diverse pastoral and spiritual needs of residents, their families, and staff are identified, prioritized, and responded to in a timely manner. Your main duties will include:
* Providing spiritual and emotional care support to residents, according to established triage priorities
* Providing spiritual care support to residents' family members and to staff as required
* Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholders
About You
You are a highly engaged professional Pastoral Care Practitioner, seeking to uphold the dignity of people living in residential aged care and seeking to make a meaningful contribution to their wellbeing. You will have:
* A tertiary qualification in pastoral care, spiritual direction, counseling, or similar
* Clinical Pastoral Education and/or equivalent
* Recent experience working in a similar role in aged care, health care, or community care
* Experience providing spiritual support to people living with varying degrees of cognitive impairment
* Experience providing spiritual care to residents receiving end of life care
* Established skills in preparation, creation, leadership, and facilitation of meaningful rituals
* Eligibility for SCA certified membership
