Duties
The
Metal Polisher
is responsible to prepare metal products for finishing processes by using various techniques to grind, buff, and polish parts. As a Metal Polisher, your duties will include:
* Grind and polish a wide variety of stainless steel, mild steel and/or brass component parts to remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges and corners, buff, hone, and polish metalwork pieces.
* Grind or clean weld joints of work piece.
* Operate hand grinder/hand polisher to prepare the work piece for plating or painting.
* Use disc angle grinder to remove welds on the work piece.
* Use disc grinder to smooth out or grind parts prior to shipping.
* Apply greaseless compounds to buffing wheels that are used for polishing component parts.
* Assemble component parts using hand and small power tools.
* Change hoses, fittings, air valves, etc. as required.
* Ability to read detailed Shop Drawings.
The Skillset
* 2-4 year's polishing experience in a store fixture manufacturing environment.
* Motivated and willing to learn.
* A positive attitude toward teamwork and strong relational skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Resourceful and a problem solver.
* Ability to work overtime when required.
* Day Shift – 7:30a.m. to 4:00p.m.
