We are recruiting a permanent full‐time Category Manager – ANZ to join our friendly and driven Sales team based at our APAC Northgate Head Office. Reporting to the Category & Shopper Manager, this key role for our business success will be responsible for driving category growth, profitability, and market share through effective assortment planning, supplier management, and promotional execution. Our new Category Manager will work cross‐functionally with marketing, sales, shopper marketing, supply chain and store operations to deliver our customer‐centric strategies aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development of and execute category strategies aligned to business objectives, market trends and retailer priorities to ensure that Metagenics is seen as a growth partner by key customers.
Analyse category performance using data (e.g. sell‐in/sell‐out and panel data) to identify trends, risks and growth opportunities.
Translate insights into actionable recommendations for internal stakeholders and retail partners.
Facilitate and drive category reviews and range reviews, promotions (including shelf price and position) analysis and provide recommendations and insights on ideal shelf positions.
Deliver category P&L targets (revenue, gross margin, stock turn, shrinkage).
Monitor KPIs and provide actionable insights to different audiences incl. Senior stakeholders.
Plan and execute promotional calendars and campaigns.
In conjunction with RGM/Category lead & monitor promotional effectiveness and ROI, adjusting strategy as needed.
Partner with retail customers to deliver category‐led growth initiative.
Present compelling, insight‐driven recommendations to influence retailer range, pricing and promotional decisions.
Play a key role in the development and implementation of the annual JBP process with key customers to ensure that Metagenics has a 2‐3 year growth agenda in place that unlocks mutual growth.
Feed into the ICP process as a subject‐matter expert within the category space.
Create shelf recommendations by channel & key customer and complete planograms, as well as shelf review analysis for the customer/channel.
Work closely with the Retail Sales and the brand marketing team in order to ensure strategic alignment between marketing and sales activation.
Support the management of lifecycle planning (new product launches, seasonal transitions, discontinuations).
Skills and Experience
* Mature category product knowledge in a customer‐facing Category or Senior Account management role within the FMCG sector – ideal.
* Demonstrated well‐developed financial and commercial competencies and acumen.
* Proven ability to analyse data and translate insights into a category growth plan.
* Strong capabilities in Excel, IQVIA (or similar) and panel data.
* Ability to build effective business partnering relationships, including an ability to analyse, evaluate and develop options and solutions.
