TP Human Capital is seeking an experienced Supervisor – Accounts Payable for a 16-month contract in Townsville. The role offers the opportunity to lead a skilled finance team, ensuring accurate, efficient, and compliant payment processes across a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
About the Role
The Supervisor – Accounts Payable oversees day-to-day payables operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong financial control. This position plays a key role in supporting the team, maintaining data integrity, and driving continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise the Accounts Payable team to ensure accurate and timely processing of supplier, vendor, staff, and payments.
* Maintain and review vendor records in the financial system to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
* Oversee reconciliations, journal adjustments, and end-of-month activities.
* Provide advice and act as a key contact for payables queries and escalations.
* Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
* Support training and capability building across automated payables systems and tools.
* Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to system and service enhancements.
About You
* Experience leading or supervising an accounts payable or finance team.
* Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, vendor management, and reconciliations.
* Skilled in using financial systems and Excel with high attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills when managing queries and stakeholders.
* Organised and proactive, able to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
* Experience in large, complex organisations is desirable.
