Key Responsibilities
- Deliver patient-centred care in the Medical/Surgical Ward, ensuring safety and quality outcomes.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, and post-operative management.
- Monitor, assess, and document patient progress and escalate concerns as required.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges while maintaining continuity of care.
- Collaborate effectively with doctors, allied health, and other nursing staff to provide holistic care.
- Support patients and families by offering education, guidance, and emotional support.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and clinical protocols.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and contribute to a positive team environment.
Requirements
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in acute care settings, with strong background in Medical/Surgical nursing.
- Proficiency in patient assessment, clinical documentation, and electronic medical records systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- Ability to prioritize workload, manage time efficiently, and respond to emergencies promptly.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing patient needs and clinical environments.
- Availability to work all shifts (Mon – Fri).
- Up-to-date immunisation and compliance documentation as per hospital requirements.
