What your day could look like

As Nurse Unit Manager - Mental Health - Hospital in the Home, you'll play a critical role in shaping how acute mental health care is delivered beyond the hospital setting. Supporting people to receive timely, compassionate treatment at home, you'll work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver sustainable outcomes for patients, families and the wider community.

Every day, you'll contribute by:
Leading a high-performing team to deliver safe, evidence-based mental health care in the community
Guiding clinical decision-making that supports recovery, continuity of care and reduced hospital admissions
Building strong partnerships with consumers, carers and clinical services to coordinate wrap-around care
Driving service improvements that strengthen quality, safety and innovation in virtual and home-based care

Let's talk about you!

You're a confident and values-driven nursing leader who thrives in complex, community-based environments. You bring calm direction, clinical insight and genuine compassion to your work, and you know how to support teams through change while keeping people at the centre of care. What will make you proud is seeing consumers recover in familiar surroundings, supported by a service you've helped shape. You're here to create impact, lead with integrity and contribute to a health service that truly values dignity and courage.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with mental health experience
Proven leadership capability in acute or community mental health settings
Strong clinical governance, risk management and communication skills
A collaborative approach grounded in compassion, integrity and innovation

You'll stand out from the crowd if you bring experience leading multidisciplinary teams in community or virtual models of care and/or postgraduate qualifications in mental health or leadership.

Most importantly, you'll be passionate about recovery-focused mental health care and ready to make a meaningful difference across the Darling Downs.
