Our client operates market-leading online marketplaces in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Founded in Australia the organisation grown into a technology company with over 3,000 employees and is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. There is a now an exciting opportunity to join the highly regarded in-house legal team in Melbourne.
The Role
Reporting to a supportive Head of Legal and established General Counsel, whilst working as part of an impressive and collegiate team, you will play an essential part in the continued evolution of one of Australia's most innovative and respected tech companies.
The role will include providing legal advice and strategic business guidance on a diverse range of matters across the APAC businesses.
Specifically, your role will include:
* Assisting with and managing the review, drafting and negotiation of a range of general commercial agreements including Partner Agreements, IT/Software Agreements, Service Agreements, Marketing Agreements and Non-Disclosure Agreements
* Advising the business on privacy, general contracts, consumer and competition, intellectual property, M&A transactions and finance-related matters as well as diverse areas including marketing, data and IT security and procurement.
This role will suit candidates from either an in-house or national firm environment with experience across either corporate/commercial, technology and/or procurement matters. Applications will also be considered from lawyers from recognised boutique firms. A full PD is available to suitable applicants on request.
