Job Opportunity: Intermediate Electrical Engineer
The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in supporting and developing project deliverables. As part of our team, you will be responsible for preparing electrical documentation, including area classifications, drawings, reports, single line diagrams, electrical load and equipment lists, and reports associated with electrical system studies.
Main Responsibilities:
* Electrical Documentation: Prepare accurate and detailed electrical documentation, including area classifications, drawings, reports, single line diagrams, electrical load and equipment lists, and reports associated with electrical system studies.
* Project Support: Provide electrical input into detailed scope of work, Design Basis Memorandum (DBM), and Project Execution Plan (PEP).
* Design Development: Develop electrical design for projects or proposals.
* Engineering Criteria: Determine engineering design criteria.
* Vendor Analysis: Analyze vendor or subcontractor designs.
* Design Verification: Review work to ensure consistency and integrity of design throughout the project.
* Deliverable Verification: Verify discipline deliverables.
* Material Takeoffs: Develop electrical Material Takeoffs (MTOs).
* Discipline Coordination: Coordinate with disciplines to provide electrical input for DBM, detailed scope of work, and PEP.
* Schedule Estimation: Estimate task hours and provide project schedule input.
* Electrical Diagrams: Prepare and review electrical single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
* Specifications Development: Develop and evaluate electrical equipment and construction specifications.
* Procurement Support: Support procurement activities, including MRQ/MRP development, technical bid evaluation, and vendor drawing approvals.
* Construction Work Package: Develop Construction Work Package (CWP), including project description, construction specifications, Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, and material lists.
Required Skills and Expertise:
* Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Low Voltage Power Distribution: Proficiency in low voltage power distribution and control systems design.
* High and Medium Voltage: Familiarity with high and medium voltage advantageous.
* Protective Relaying: Protective relaying, motor control systems, hazardous area classification assessment, and reporting skills required.
* Electrical Safety: Knowledge of electrical safety regulations and codes compliance requirements.
Education and Qualifications:
* Educational Background: Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
* Professional Registration: Registered Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ) preferred or working towards.
* Industry Experience: Minimum 5-8 years oil and gas experience with EPCM background.
* Oil & Gas Projects: Experience in Oil & Gas facility projects, including gas processing facilities, compression facilities, wellsites, pipelines, etc.
* Codes and Standards: Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards.
