Opportunity
The investment analyst supports the implementation of portfolio decisions, risk reviews, budget analysis, legal document management as well as general administrative & operational matters.
This is a full time permanent role, and we are accepting applications from Melbourne.
Other locations may be considered with the right experience.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of a range of investment reporting including credit exposure, ALM and investment performance reports, both for the IM Team and a range of local and Group functions (Risk, Finance, Actuarial).
Co-ordinate the production of key Investment Committee reports and other risk management reporting for stakeholders across AIAA and AIANZ.
Administration of the Investment Committee and other investment decision making bodies.
Provide trade support to the front office investment team.
Liaison with middle and back-office teams on trade settlement, reporting and the implementation of projects to improve reporting and operating efficiencies.
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the annual budget, LTIRA reviews and other financial models including liaison with relevant stakeholders.
Support investment-related risk control reviews and the management of legal documents and contracts.
Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by the GM Direct Investments and the Investment team to meet reasonable operational needs.
Qualifications
Degree qualification in Business, finance or related discipline is essential.
Progression towards attaining a postgraduate qualification such as the CFA charter or equivalent qualification will be viewed favourably.
Keen interest in financial markets and a curiosity about the dynamics of investment markets with a focus upon the Australasian bond market.
Strong analytical, numerical and financial modelling skills.
Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required and experience in building, running and auditing of models in Excel or other systems would be highly regarded.
Experience with the Blackrock Aladdin and Bloomberg trading systems (PORT, AIM, MARS) would be viewed favourably but is not essential.
Applicants should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and be able to work under tight deadlines.
