We're currently recruiting for a qualified mechanical trades person to join our Mechanical Maintenance team!
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician maintains the operation of North East Water's mechanical assets and systems associated with water and wastewater infrastructure to optimise performance and ensure effective and efficient operations.
In this role you will provide advice and hands‐on assistance that supports the delivery of operational projects, upgrades and asset renewals while providing emergency maintenance response across the region.
This role is a full‐time, ongoing opportunity on a 9‐day fortnight roster. General hours of work between 7am and 4pm with overtime as required and/or in times of emergency.
* Preventative and breakdown maintenance of mechanical assets and systems associated with water and wastewater infrastructure.
* Provide technical support to operational staff to resolve faults and issues within critical infrastructure.
* Complete documentation including works orders, timesheets, project closures, and other relevant paperwork.
* Ordering and collecting parts and materials.
* Provide emergency maintenance response and servicing across the North East region.
* Identify improvement opportunities or areas of business risk for corrective action.
* Support mechanical upgrades, asset renewals, and minor capital works.
Key Selection Criteria
* Relevant trade qualification with demonstrated experience in mechanical fitting and fabrication (water industry experience preferred but not essential).
* Demonstrated experience leading with a safety‐first mindset and commitment to work health safety systems and practices.
* Basic computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office and asset and works management systems.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and build effective relationships across a range of stakeholders.
* Detail any licences that will support your success in this role (Must hold a current driver's licence and must be willing to obtain a medium rigid licence, if not currently a licence holder).

Salary Information
* An attractive salary range of $90,574 to $100,709 plus 12% superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
* This role is eligible for our trade, industry and wastewater allowances which add over $4,000 per year to your remuneration.
* Overtime is undertaken on an as required basis and/or in times of emergency with any applicable overtime hours and rates.
