We are BCR Communities - a not-for-profit award winning community organisation serving communities within the Illawarra and Shoalhaven for close to 35 years (formerly Bay & Basin Community Resources). We are currently seeking an experienced Scheduler to join our team to roster our Home Care Workers.
This role requires an individual to work between 15 and 28 hours per week with a minimum of 2 full days per week, Mondays and Tuesdays and up to an additional 12 hours spread across Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays each week. Up to full time hours may be required for leave coverage and peaks in workload from time to time. As such, the successful individual must be available and willing to work across all 5 days per week to be successful.
Using an electronic rostering system, you will ensure responsive and efficient rostering practices are achieved having regard to client needs and preferences, staff availability, Award and staff contract requirements and cost considerations. Working cooperatively and flexibly within the team, you will build a strong rapport with clients, their support network, care workers and the broader aged care team, maintaining effective communication and providing support and direction as needed. You will also maintain active and effective communication with external brokerage agencies.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following:
- Commitment to high quality customer service
- Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills to form and maintain strong professional relationships
- Robust digital literacy with experience using Microsoft Office programs and electronic rostering systems within a community care / aged care setting being desirable
- Well-developed analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Attention to detail with ability to plan and organise worker resources in an ever-changing environment to meet client needs
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team environment
- Strong organisational skills and time management to respond effectively to fluctuating work volume, and changing priorities
- Current National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check, primary dose of COVID vaccination, Drivers Licence, and satisfactory completion of a pre-employment functional assessment
