Job DetailsWe are seeking an experienced Standard Operating Environment (SOE) Integration Engineer to support advanced systems integration and capability development activities within a high-assurance Defence environment.This is a hands-on technical role focused on designing, building, integrating and maintaining deployable and fixed ICT environments. You will operate as a subject matter expert within a small, high-performing team responsible for systems-of-systems integration, experimentation environments, and operational capability support.The engagement requires deep expertise in SOE engineering, automation, DevOps practices, Windows enterprise environments, and secure network integration. You will contribute to deployable solutions, data centre and network integration design, and provide technical guidance across complex interfaces.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build and manage Windows-based SOE environments across development, test and production systemsImplement automation and orchestration using DevOps toolsets (PowerShell/PowerCLI, Ansible, GitLab and similar)Support deployable and static local area networks in secure environmentsConfigure and administer enterprise Microsoft services including Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, PKI and endpoint securityDevelop and maintain deployment pipelines using MDT, MECM and IntunePackage, install and manage server and application software (Windows and Linux desirable)Provide technical support during exercises, trials and operational activitiesProduce and maintain system design documentation and configuration control artefactsContribute to integration design across complex network and platform interfacesPropose and assess emerging technologies to support future capability developmentDeliver technical advice to stakeholders and support integration frameworksEssential CriteriaExtensive experience (10+ years) in SOE engineering and enterprise systems integrationAdvanced hands-on expertise with Windows Server and Windows client environmentsStrong experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, PKI and enterprise endpoint securityDemonstrated capability in DevOps automation using PowerShell, Ansible and Git-based toolingExperience designing and managing SOE deployments using MDT, MECM and IntuneProven ability to work in secure, high-assurance environments aligned to security frameworksStrong technical documentation and configuration management skillsAbility to operate autonomously within a small specialist teamEligibility to meet ITAR compliance requirementsNV1 security clearance (minimum)Desirable CriteriaExperience with Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server and Remote Desktop ServicesApplication packaging experienceExposure to deployable or tactical network environmentsExperience supporting Defence or government networksKnowledge of Information Security Manual (ISM) compliance practicesLinux administration experienceExperience in systems integration test and evaluation environmentsWorking ArrangementsThis role is primarily onsite in a secure facility in Symonston, ACT.
