About the Opportunity

You'll lead the development of site master plans and infrastructure requirements for the SSN‑AUKUS program, working on complex, high‑profile projects that demand technical excellence and strategic thinking. Collaborating with industry leaders and defence stakeholders, you'll influence design, governance, and assurance processes while mentoring a multidisciplinary team to deliver world‑class facilities.
Responsibilities
* Lead site master planning and develop design guidelines and infrastructure requirements to deliver an efficient, fit‑for‑purpose shipyard.
* Translate operational needs into Infrastructure Functional Requirements and support schedule development for design and assurance activities.
* Engage internal and external stakeholders to define requirements and ensure consistency through processes, templates, and governance documentation.
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the Infrastructure Engineering Team to build capability and ensure quality delivery.
* Validate facility and infrastructure integration using engineering tools (e.g., AutoCAD, DOORS) and develop templates to streamline documentation.
* Establish assurance procedures for requirements verification and provide pragmatic technical advice balancing capability, cost, schedule, and risk.
About you
* Degree in Engineering with eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia (MIEAust) or equivalent professional body.
* Demonstrated experience in industrial manufacturing environments, including facility/equipment specifications and compliance; Defence shipbuilding experience highly regarded.
* Proven ability to project manage infrastructure or equipment projects across design, procurement, installation, and commissioning stages.
* Strong leadership skills with experience guiding multi‑disciplinary technical teams in complex industrial settings.
* Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, requirements management, and configuration/change control processes.
* Proficiency in engineering toolsets (e.g., AutoCAD, DOORS) and intermediate MS Office skills.
* Demonstrated capability in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, cost, and risk management.
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
