Unlocking the Power of Artificial Intelligence in Water Science
Postdoctoral Fellowship in AI-Driven Water Solutions
Cutting-edge research is crucial for solving the world's most pressing challenges. As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will play a key role in tackling climate and environmental issues facing Australian communities by harnessing the power of artificial intelligence.
You will join a team of experts who are dedicated to driving innovation and making a real impact. Your work will contribute significantly to CSIRO's nationally recognised Water Science capability and help catalyse digital transformation across the sector.
* Investigate and prototype innovative AI methods, including Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), to automate modelling, accelerate data integration, and enable knowledge retrieval across diverse water datasets.
* Design responsible AI solutions and workflow infrastructure that integrate CSIRO's science into user-facing tools for authorities, practitioners, and communities.
* Collaborate with researchers and stakeholders to translate research into scalable decision-support services for national water management.
* Contribute to publications, demonstrations, and guidance that advance AI-enabled water science and sector adoption.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Working with colleagues and partners to design, test, and implement methods, tools, and infrastructure that align CSIRO's water science outputs—reports, models, and data—with AI frameworks.
2. Ensuring that AI solutions are responsible, efficient, and effective in supporting informed decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in AI, machine learning, and related areas. A strong track record of research and development experience is essential. We welcome applications from talented individuals who share our passion for innovation and making a positive impact.
Benefits include:
* Opportunities to work on high-profile projects that drive change and make a real difference.
* A dynamic and supportive work environment that encourages collaboration and growth.
