A warm, respectful, and family-oriented household based in Picton, NSW is seeking an experienced and calm nanny to assist in the care of their two young daughters, aged 8 months and 2 years. The family values consistency, kindness, and open communication, and strives to maintain a calm, structured, and nurturing home environment where their children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to learn and grow.
The Role
This is a part-time position, working 3 days per week (25.5 hours):
* Wednesday, Thursday Friday: 7:00am 3:30pm
* Potential to increase days to include Monday and/or Tuesday
The successful candidate will be a reliable, warm, and proactive caregiver who is confident in managing routines, setting age-appropriate boundaries, and building strong, trusting relationships with young children. This role is best suited to someone seeking a long-term position and who takes pride in providing consistent, high-quality care.
A Typical Day
The day will begin supporting the morning routine, including breakfast and preparing the children for the day ahead. Throughout the day, the nanny will engage the children in a variety of age-appropriate activities, ensuring a balance of play, learning, outdoor time, and rest. Meal and snack preparation will also form part of the daily routine.
The day will conclude ensuring the children are settled and well-prepared for the afternoon ahead. Across the week, the family values consistency in routine while also allowing flexibility to respond to the children s evolving needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide attentive and nurturing care, following the children s established routines
* Engage the children in age-appropriate activities to support development, learning, and play
* Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children (lactose-free requirements for the youngest child)
* Assist with light household duties related to the children including:
* Tidying play areas and maintaining organised spaces
* Children s laundry
* General tidying of shared areas as time permits
About You
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
* Minimum 3+ years experience as a nanny or in childcare
* Relevant childcare qualifications (preferred)
* Strong understanding of early childhood development
* Confident in managing routines and setting gentle, age-appropriate boundaries
* Reliable, organised, and proactive with a positive attitude
* Excellent communication skills and fluent English
* Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
* Current Working With Children Check
* Non-smoker
* Full driver s licence and own reliable vehicle
* Pet-friendly (the family has two elderly dogs a poodle and cavoodle that may need occasional care during the day)
* Musical ability (piano or guitar) is a bonus
