German Inn, located in the iconic township of Hahndorf, is seeking a skilled and motivated Chef to join their kitchen team on a full time basis. This role suits someone who brings creativity, consistency, and a strong understanding of commercial kitchen operations.
About the Role
The Chef will contribute to the smooth running of the kitchen by preparing high quality dishes, supporting menu development, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* Contributing to menu creation and determining ingredient and staffing needs
* Overseeing the standard of dishes throughout preparation, cooking, and plating
* Collaborating with management, dietary specialists, and front of house staff on food related matters
* Showing team members correct cooking methods and offering guidance on kitchen procedures
* Cooking a range of meals to venue standards
* Upholding and promoting strict hygiene and food handling requirements
* Assisting with the recruitment, coaching, and development of kitchen staff when required
* Managing food preservation processes, including freezing and storage
Skills & Qualifications
* Minimum AQF Diploma in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent qualification
* At least 1 year of relevant industry experience
* Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen compliance
* Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
* Good communication and teamwork skills
