About the Role
We are seeking a Maintenance Officer to join our team on a part‐time basis. The role will be based at Avalon House, 14 John St Avalon Beach NSW 2107. Shift times are 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.
Our Ideal Candidate
* Minimum of 2 years' experience completing maintenance for commercial businesses (preferred).
* Essential: Police Check (National Police Certificate).
* Knowledge of Work, Health and Safety Requirements.
* Good communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work proactively to identify maintenance problems, including regularly inspecting and assessing repair work.
* Ability to recognise, escalates and resolve maintenance matters that require further assistance.
* Current Driver's Licence Class C.
* Preferable: SafeWork NSW White Card.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain common grounds and shared spaces to a high standard of presentation.
* Perform general garden maintenance, including mulching, planting, weed control and lawn care.
* Operate garden and maintenance equipment, including ride‐on mowers, power tools, and high‐pressure cleaning equipment.
* Carry out general building maintenance such as painting, lighting replacement, gutter cleaning, basic plumbing, tiling and minor repairs.
* Follow preventative maintenance programmes to ensure timely upkeep of buildings and outdoor areas.
* Identify, report and address hazards in line with work health and safety procedures.
* Obtain quotes for repairs or maintenance works as directed by the House Manager.
* Provide friendly, professional service to residents, visitors, contractors and staff.
* Build positive relationships with residents through a respectful, approachable and supportive manner.
