The role of a Senior Guardian involves protecting the rights and interests of vulnerable adults who require support with decision-making. This includes ensuring their autonomy is respected while also providing necessary assistance to prevent harm.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake structured decision-making processes in accordance with established organisational policies and legislative frameworks.
* Participate in healthcare decision making, which may require working on weekends and public holidays as needed.
* Ensure accurate and up-to-date client-related documentation and guardianship activities, including Guardianship reports and visit records.
* Provide professional advice and support to stakeholders, particularly in relation to positive behaviours support and restrictive practices.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including community groups and government departments.
* Contribute to community education and liaison activities, including public speaking engagements.
* Evaluate and interpret behaviour support documents from an evidence-based and human rights perspective.
Possession of a C class driver's licence is mandatory for this role due to regular travel requirements for meetings, events, and visits.
