Eastcoaster Tasmania in Orford is seeking a skilled Chef to prepare, cook, and present quality food for lunch and dinner.
The Spring Bay Restaurant is situated over the water with a seating capacity of 150 patrons and includes an outdoor function/dining area.
The property offers meeting and entertainment rooms for large conferences and events, with accommodation in the Motel, Cabins, and Villas.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in a hands-on chef role, be motivated to advance to sous chef, and be able to work flexible shifts.
Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including proficient spoken English, while maintaining an energetic and positive attitude and consistently delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced kitchen.
The minimum requirements for this position:
* Skilled in fast line cooking, kitchen, and presenting food with appealing colour, flavour, and texture.
* High standard of kitchen hygiene.
* Skilled in customer service, motivating teams, leading by example, and giving constructive feedback to staff and management.
* Coordinating with front-of-house staff for efficient service.
* Ensuring the quality of dishes throughout each phase of preparation and presentation.
* Preparing and cooking menu items during service hours.
* Keep the kitchen and equipment clean and tidy.
Qualification and Experience:
* Minimum five years' experience as a chef.
* Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery or higher.
Menu design experience would be an advantage
