TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (SPECIMEN RECEPTION AREA)
Status: Part Time - 15 hrs per week (Thursday and Friday)
Department: Specimen Reception
Laboratory: Burnie
About The Role:
Guaranteed 15 hours per week with options to pick up extra
Receiving, sorting and processing of samples for testing
Data entry and scanning tasks
Operation of some laboratory equipment for sample processing
Liaising with GP practices for urgent sample pick up
Using laboratory application software
Apply quality systems & continuous improvement processes
Maintain clean and safe working environment
Selection Criteria:
Proficient and self-motivated
Proven ability to work well under pressure in a busy workplace
The ability to undertake training and direction in the role
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow procedural documents
Great interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
The ability to work as part of a team in a pleasant and co‑operative manner
The ability to work autonomously to complete tasks on time
Previous laboratory experience will be considered an advantage
Must be a permanent resident with full work rights in Australia at time of application
