Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled T4 - Storage Administrator to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining the availability and stability of core components within our midrange storage environment. You will be responsible for proactively managing, optimising, and aligning our storage assets and services with the operational requirements of the organisation. Reporting to the client team leader, your contributions will support the maintenance of storage technologies, with a focus on backup and virtual hosting platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and support SAN, Object, Block, and NAS storage technologies. Familiarity with FICON is a plus.
* Utilise Dell Element Management and Dell Open Manage Enterprise tools to ensure optimal operation of storage hardware.
* Provide timely updates to the client team leader and maintain accurate records of midrange storage technologies.
* Deliver robust support and maintenance for virtual hosting platforms and backup technologies.
* Maintain current security clearances and adhere to security protocols.
* Proactively manage the lifecycle of storage assets to ensure performance and availability.
* Identify and implement tuning opportunities to optimise storage platforms and connectivity.
* Respond to incidents and conduct health checks to maintain system integrity.
* Work with clients and IT Infrastructure Service Providers to resolve issues and implement service improvements.
* Support and maintain backup platforms to ensure data integrity and availability.
* Handle installation and configuration of data replication and mirroring between storage equipment.
Requirements:
* ITIL 4.0 Certification is essential.
* Proficiency in SAN, Object, Block, and NAS storage technologies.
* Experience with Dell storage hardware and management tools is highly desirable.
* Experience with storage technology including NetApp, Dell, and Hitachi.
* Experience in virtual hosting and backup solutions is a plus.
* Must be eligible for baseline security clearance. NV1 clearance is preferred.
Working Conditions:
This position requires participation in a 24/7 operational team, with coverage from 7 AM to 7 PM. Availability for on-call duties and working according to a roster is essential.
